This section consists of in depth articles and video interviews with independent artists as well as major, plus concert reviews, live footage of DJ's spinning, links to online radio stations, a directory of restaurants providing live music and a list of open mics to attend to in the city. However, our exclusive approach to interviewing artists involves delving into their personal and spiritual beliefs about what inspires them to create. We curiously ask about their religious backgrounds or philosophical views on life to better understand them as not just an artist, but as a human being. For example, we might ask the rapper and actor, Mos Def, if he is a practicing muslim, and if so, does he intertwine any of its traditional values with his performances or songs. This is not a gossip magazine, nor a superficial way to promote artists, but rather an organic approach to understanding the heart and soul of an entertainer on an authentic level.
